Wintermute Amasses $126.25 Million in Hyperliquid Shorts Led by $46.92 Million ETH Position

Algorithmic trading firm Wintermute holds $126.25 million in short positions on decentralized exchange Hyperliquid, led by a $46.92 million short against Ether. The positions show approximately $963,600 in unrealized profits alongside a lifetime profit of $197.22 million on the platform. Other major short holdings include $11.30 million in Solana and $10.03 million in HYPE tokens. The derivatives exposure coincides with Ether slipping to around $2,644 after failing to hold above $2,800, following an earlier transfer of 27,372 ETH, valued at roughly $75 million, from FTX and Alameda Research bankruptcy wallets to Wintermute.
