Wedbush Rolls Out 24/7 CME Bitcoin Futures Clearing as Kalshi Perps Expand
Wedbush Securities began full 24/7 clearing support for CME cryptocurrency futures on June 5, extending institutional access after CME activated nonstop Globex trading on May 29. The rollout followed Kalshi’s June 3 launch of BTCPERP, America’s first CFTC-approved bitcoin perpetual futures contract, and Charles Schwab’s addition of round-the-clock trading for BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP futures on June 2. CME’s crypto products generated $3 trillion notional volume in 2025 and averaged 407,200 contracts daily in 2026, up 46 percent year-over-year, while offshore perpetuals reached $61.7–92.9 trillion in 2025. Kraken confirmed its own CFTC-compliant perps launch within 30 days of May 31. Bitcoin trades near $71,611 amid the shift to always-on regulated U.S. venues.
