Wealthy Investors Show Long-Term Bitcoin Conviction Despite Broad Family Office Hesitation

Affluent investors are increasingly treating Bitcoin as a long-term portfolio diversifier akin to gold rather than a speculative asset, according to BingX Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Lee at Token2049. A CoinShares survey of 2,230 investors with at least $500,000 in investable assets showed that 80% of digital asset holders own Bitcoin for long-term appreciation. However, broader institutional penetration remains muted; a JPMorgan study of 333 single-family offices across 30 countries found that 89% maintain zero cryptocurrency exposure, holding an average allocation of just 0.4%, with only 17% viewing crypto as a key investment theme.
