Volvo Cars Expands Automated Driving Partnership With Nvidia Across Vehicle Lineup

Volvo Cars has expanded its partnership with Nvidia to develop next-generation driver-assistance and automated driving systems across electric, plug-in hybrid, and gas-powered vehicles. Under the deepened agreement, Volvo will integrate Nvidia's Hyperion sensor suite, compute architecture, Alpamayo autonomous driving software stack, and Halos safety layer with its own safety engineering. The deployment will launch before 2030 across multiple global markets simultaneously, excluding China, and will not be restricted to premium trims. The rollout will begin with supervised driving before advancing to hands-free operation on highways and in urban environments.
