Vitalik Buterin Unveils Ethereum 2030 Roadmap Featuring Seven Upgrades and 10,000 TPS Goal

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has unveiled a comprehensive technical roadmap targeting 2030 to transition Ethereum into a cryptographic world computer. Building on the Ethereum Foundation's Strawmap draft, the proposal outlines seven upgrades through late 2029 designed to scale throughput to 10,000 transactions per second via zero-knowledge proofs, recursive STARKs, and quantum-resistant security. The upcoming Hegota fork next year is anticipated to be the network's final traditional upgrade. Following the announcement, Ethereum traded between $2,526 and $2,560 with a market capitalization of roughly $310 billion, while prediction markets showed rising odds of ETH testing $3,300.
