Valereum CEO on VGOLD & tokenised gold growth
Valereum CEO Gary Cottle discussed the launch of VGOLD, a yield-bearing token aimed at differentiating in the tokenised-gold market. VGOLD will offer staking returns of roughly 10–15% for investors who lock tokens for more than a year, and includes VGOLD-CORE as a liquidity pool to which existing bond assets may be transitioned. The token is designed to be highly liquid and convertible into cash, tethered gold, and other assets, allowing active capital management while maintaining gold exposure. Valereum’s partnership with Quorium Global Photonics is cited as strategic to building the VGOLD ecosystem, and the company is pursuing multiple gold and real-estate tokenisation deals that could drive near-term revenue. A U.S. listing remains a target but depends on achieving stable revenues. Market impact: VGOLD’s yield feature and liquidity focus could attract capital into tokenised gold products, increasing competition in digital-gold offerings and potentially boosting flows into real-world-asset tokenisation if execution and regulatory permissions progress.
