US Suspends Microsoft, Adobe and IT Giants From Green-Card Labor Program
The U.S. government has suspended Microsoft, Adobe, and major IT consulting firms from the Permanent Labor Certification program, halting all new and pending green card applications for foreign workers amid allegations of fraud and misuse. The crackdown, announced by Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling and supported by Vice President JD Vance, also affects Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini, Tata, Wipro, and HCL. Authorities noted the targeted companies have requested nearly 3 million foreign workers and secured over 230,000 H-1B approvals since 2009. The administration also launched investigations into nine universities over international student visa usage.
