United Airlines, DISH Partner To Stream Live Football Via Starlink

United Airlines Holdings has announced a partnership with DISH Network to broadcast live college and professional football games to passengers via Starlink-enabled seatback screens. The service begins rollout this week across more than 200 Starlink-equipped United mainline aircraft, with plans to expand the offering to nearly 700 aircraft by February 2027. DISH is providing the live feeds via its OnStream platform, delivering content from ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, and Prime Video. This deployment represents a notable commercial expansion for SpaceX's Starlink aviation connectivity service, which is already operational across more than 560 United mainline and United Express aircraft. Starlink Wi-Fi is provided complimentary to all United MileagePlus members across every cabin class. Furthermore, United is broadening its onboard entertainment hardware, targeting screen installations on up to 1,000 aircraft by late 2027. New aircraft additions are slated to receive 27-inch 4K OLED seatback screens, reinforcing the competitive push among major airlines to enhance passenger experience through satellite broadband.
