UK Tribunal Clears $4bn iCloud Class Action Against Apple to Proceed

Britain’s Competition Appeal Tribunal has approved a £3 billion ($4 billion) collective lawsuit brought by Which? to advance to trial, allowing nearly 40 million UK iCloud users to potentially claim damages. The claim alleges Apple abused its dominant position by steering iPhone users toward its own cloud service and restricting rivals, covering usage from November 2018 to June 2026 with estimated payouts of up to £77 per person. The case, first cleared on 22 June, adds long-term legal overhang for Apple, though trial is not expected until 2028 and the company plans to appeal while denying all allegations.
