Trump Accounts Enroll 70 Million Children, Channeling Passive Inflows Into US Equity Markets

Approximately 70 million American children have been automatically enrolled in government-created Trump Accounts, setting up long-term capital inflows into US equities and S&P 500 index funds. The program restricts withdrawals until age 18 and carries annual contribution limits of $5,000 for 2026 and 2027, plus employer contributions up to $2,500. More than $4.5 billion has already been deposited since launch, supplemented by a $1,000 federal seed payment for children born from 2025 through 2028 and a $6.25 billion pledge from Michael and Susan Dell providing $250 each to 25 million accounts.
