Troves Pauses Three Starknet Vaults Following 8.6 BTC Exploit

DeFi platform Troves has paused three vaults on Starknet after an exploit resulted in the loss of approximately 8.6 Bitcoin. The incident targeted the protocol's xWBTC/WBTC vault on Saturday, Oct. 31, and was traced to a legacy rebalancing smart contract that retained operational permissions despite being replaced. Troves revoked the compromised contract's permissions within 40 minutes and halted the xWBTC/WBTC, xSTRK/STRK, and xstrkBTC/strkBTC vaults to prevent further risk. The team reported that no other vaults were compromised and is collaborating with security firms to trace the stolen assets.
