Tether Reports $1.5B Q2 Profit as USDT Supply Grows, Gold Holdings Rise
Tether reported strong Q2 2026 results, posting about $1.5 billion in net operating profit, nearly 50% higher than Q1. The company ended the quarter with approximately $187.75 billion in assets versus $183.64 billion in liabilities, leaving a $4.11 billion reserve buffer. USDT circulation rose to about $184.6 billion, up $446 million from March, while Tether said its market share climbed above 60% even as the broader stablecoin market contracted. The issuer also added 14 metric tons of gold, taking holdings above 146 metric tons, and reduced secured lending exposure by about $2.38 billion. The report is supportive for Tether’s balance-sheet strength and signals continued resilience in the stablecoin and broader crypto infrastructure sector.
