Tether Freezes USDT in 131 ISIS-K-Linked TRON Wallets After OFAC Update

Tether has frozen USDT balances in 131 TRON wallets tied to ISIS-K following the U.S. Treasury’s OFAC sanctions update. The action came after OFAC added 134 crypto identifiers, including 131 TRON addresses and 3 Monero addresses, to its list on July 1. Chainalysis reported the wallets received over $1.4 million and sent more than $880,000 since 2023. The freezes highlight stablecoin issuers’ expanding role in sanctions enforcement without imposing a broad ban on TRON itself.
