Tesla Tops 2026 American-Made Index for Sixth Straight Year

Tesla retained the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in Cars.com’s 2026 American-Made Index with the Model 3 and Model Y, marking the sixth consecutive year the EV maker has led the ranking. The 2026 list shrank to an all-time low of 86 vehicles, with only five EVs qualifying after the federal tax credit expired. Jeep posted the largest gain as the Grand Cherokee surged 66 places to No. 4 on a 14% increase in U.S.-Canadian parts content. Ford and GM placed no models in the top 10 despite having 9 and 13 vehicles on the list, respectively, while Honda led all automakers with five top-10 entries.
