Tesla is raising Cybertruck prices by $5,000 as it settles into a luxury niche

Tesla has increased the prices of its Cybertruck electric pickup truck trims by $5,000, signaling a strategic shift to position the vehicle within a lower-volume luxury niche. The base Dual Motor Cybertruck now starts at $74,990, up from $69,990, while the Premium All-Wheel Drive variant rose to $84,990 from $79,990. The top-tier Cyberbeast retained its existing pricing of $99,990. The price hikes arrive despite cooling demand for the pickup. According to estimates from Cox Automotive, Tesla sold 7,263 Cybertruck units across the United States during the first half of 2026, representing a 32.2% year-over-year decline. The figures stand well below CEO Elon Musk's earlier target of 250,000 annual vehicle deliveries. Market analysts note that the pricing adjustments are designed to offset rising material costs and safeguard Tesla's automotive gross margins. With the automaker discontinuing the Model S and Model X earlier in the year, the Cybertruck is increasingly serving as a premium offering capable of commanding higher pricing despite lower overall production and delivery volumes.
