Tesla, Ford and GM Stocks Test Key Technical Boundaries
Major U.S. automakers Tesla, Ford, and General Motors are testing critical technical levels, presenting distinct trading setups across the sector. Tesla is testing the $350 level from below after filling a post-earnings gap lower, facing immediate overhead resistance from its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) while the declining 200-day EMA sits near $381. A sustained move above the 50-day EMA would signal technical improvement, though failure to clear resistance could lead to further downside. Meanwhile, Ford is stuck in a tight consolidation range between $13.75 support and $14.25 resistance, positioned between its moving averages and offering short-term opportunities primarily for range-bound traders. In contrast, General Motors displays the strongest technical chart among the group, maintaining an uptrend and forming a bullish flag pattern. GM successfully retested former resistance at $86 as new support, well above both its rising 50-day and 200-day EMAs, with additional buying interest anticipated ahead of its September 4 dividend date.
