Tesla and Samsung Oppose Potential US Tariffs on Vietnam Ahead of November Deadline

Tesla and Samsung have submitted formal comments opposing potential new U.S. tariffs on Vietnamese imports ahead of a November 29 probe deadline, warning of supply chain disruptions. The Trump administration launched the investigation in May after naming Vietnam a priority foreign country over alleged intellectual property violations. Vietnamese imports already face a 12.5% general U.S. tariff imposed in July. Vietnam's exports to the U.S. rose 42% in the first eight months of 2026, creating the largest bilateral U.S. goods trade deficit.
