Taiko Achieves 100% ZK Coverage, Slashes Mainnet Finality to 2s
Taiko Labs announced major technical and governance milestones that could materially improve Ethereum Layer-2 usability and on‑chain composability. By Q3–Q4 2025 Taiko cut preconfirmation times from ~45s to 2s via preconfirmations, batch proofs and multiproving, and reached 100% zero‑knowledge proof coverage for all mainnet blocks by December 2025. The protocol processed hundreds of millions of transactions (847M in H1; ~909M year‑to‑date) and attracted ~2.3M active addresses, launched DAO veto governance, and rolled out a native DEX with ETH/USDC and other pools. These developments reduce latency and trust assumptions for Layer‑2 transactions and are broadly positive for Ethereum L2 adoption and the outlook for ETH.
