Synopsys Advances Agentic AI Chip Design with AMD and Microsoft

Synopsys announced new autonomous agentic AI workflows for chip design, developed with Microsoft and available on Microsoft Discovery. The release highlights two workflows: a fully autonomous debug closure workflow and a fully autonomous implementation and closure workflow, both intended to speed validation, root-cause analysis, and QoR tuning. Early testing suggests the debug workflow can cut cycle time by 25% to 40%, potentially saving weeks of engineering effort and improving silicon quality. AMD is actively evaluating these tools for future products.
