Switzerland takes crown as Europe’s crypto capital, VC report says
A CV VC note says Switzerland has become Europe’s dominant crypto hub, capturing 47% of European blockchain venture funding in 2025 and cementing Zug and Zurich as focal points. Switzerland pulled in $728 million across 31 deals (a 37% year-over-year rise) and hosts 1,766 blockchain firms, while the top 50 Swiss-based blockchain companies are valued at $467 billion. The report frames this concentration as a maturing ecosystem—shifting focus from raw throughput to economic activity—and forecasts growth driven by stronger infrastructure, account/chain abstraction, AI integration, stablecoins for SMEs, and tokenisation of real-world assets. Market implications include increased venture capital concentration in Switzerland, faster development of infrastructure and payments use cases, and potential new markets from asset tokenisation.
