Super League Buys First Bitcoin Ahead of Metaplanet Merger Vote

Super League Enterprise has acquired its first Bitcoin for $83,041.40 ahead of an October 16 shareholder vote on its merger with Metaplanet. The single-coin purchase establishes custody and accounting controls prior to the transaction. Under the proposed reverse takeover announced in August, Metaplanet will contribute 2,100 Bitcoin and $2.5 million in cash for roughly 95.7% of Super League's common stock. Driven by Bitcoin price gains, the value of the 2,100 BTC contribution rose from $132 million in August to around $179 million in early October. The combined entity will rebrand as Superplanet, Inc.
