Spiral Develops Bitcoin Lightning Payments for Mesh LLM Decentralized AI Compute Network

Block-backed developer group Spiral is integrating Bitcoin Lightning Network payments into Mesh LLM, an artificial intelligence inference network designed to pool GPU compute power for models exceeding 256GB. The payment mechanism remains under active development and has not yet launched into live production, with no finalized launch dates, production transaction volumes, or participating GPU metrics. On October 5, foundational code packages reached version 0.78.1 to define pricing and invoice lifetime structures. The system relies on the Lightning Development Kit and may use the x402 micropayment standard, while developers work on solutions for verifiable compute.
