Spain September Manufacturing PMI Rises to 51.0, Beating Expectations and Returning to Expansion
Spain's manufacturing sector returned to growth in September as the headline manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index climbed to 51.0, S&P Global reported. The print beat economist forecasts of 50.1 and rebounded from 49.5 in August, crossing the 50.0 threshold separating expansion from contraction. Despite production gains, underlying demand showed vulnerability with new orders contracting for a fifth consecutive month. Additionally, input cost inflation accelerated to a four-month high due to higher energy costs, prompting manufacturers to raise output charges at the fastest rate in three months.
