SpaceX Requests FAA Approval to Expand Starship Launches to 456 Annually

SpaceX has submitted a formal Notice of Intent to the Federal Aviation Administration to dramatically scale up Starship-Super Heavy launches from Boca Chica, Texas. The company seeks to expand from its current cap of 25 annual flights to 100 in Phase 1, followed by 456 launches and 912 landings per year in Phase 2. At a 150-ton payload capacity per flight, the Phase 2 cadence would enable SpaceX to deliver upwards of 68,400 tons to orbit annually, requiring extensive FAA environmental, noise, and socioeconomic reviews.
