South Korean Consumer Group Accuses Tesla of Deceptive Full Self-Driving Marketing

South Korean advocacy group Citizens United for Consumer Sovereignty is filing a complaint with the Korea Fair Trade Commission, alleging Tesla misled tens of thousands of buyers by selling Full Self-Driving software on vehicles legally barred from using it. While U.S.-built Teslas meet local safety rules under a bilateral trade pact, about 99% of new units sold last year were manufactured in Shanghai and lack required certifications. Tesla actively collected lump-sum fees of 9.043 million won ($6,726) or 150,000 won ($112) monthly subscriptions. Regulators have opened an investigation into Tesla's advertising practices.
