Singapore Deports Early Bitcoin Developer Amir Taaki Following Six-Hour Interrogation

Singapore authorities deported early Bitcoin developer and privacy advocate Amir Taaki following a six-hour interrogation regarding his software development projects. Taaki, who currently develops the decentralized crypto privacy protocol DarkFi, revealed that local law enforcement provided no formal justification for the action. The British-Iranian programmer noted this incident continues a pattern of international travel restrictions, following deportations from Argentina and Mexico alongside detentions in Serbia and Japan over the past year. Taaki previously authored BIP 0001 and built early implementations of CoinJoin and stealth addresses.
