Second Patches Ark Server Vulnerability After Hackers Steal 0.75 Bitcoin in Exploit

Bitcoin layer-2 developer Second patched an Ark server boarding flow vulnerability hours after an attacker stole 0.75 BTC, worth approximately $62,322, from company operational funds. No user balances were affected because pre-signed virtual transaction output (VTXO) exit paths kept customer capital safe. The hacker registered boards using only their own signatures and exited them while double-spending the same VTXOs across the Lightning Network. A subsequent denial-of-service attack temporarily degraded Lightning Network receive capabilities on Bark-based wallets, while investigators noted the perpetrator attempted to use funds linked to a September 19 Blink Wallet breach.
