SEC Approves Listing Rules for 3x Leveraged Bitcoin and Ether Futures ETFs

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a Cboe BZX rule change enabling the listing of proposed 3x leveraged futures exchange-traded products, including Bitcoin (BITH) and Ether (ETHK) funds from VS Trust and Volatility Shares. Trading remains subject to registration effectiveness, with the funds not yet commencing operations. The products target three times the daily performance of underlying futures benchmarks and charge a 1.85% annual management fee. Estimated total expenses for BITH reach 2.48%, while the commodity pool structures require Schedule K-1 tax forms and carry compounding and roll risks.
