Sandbox Exec Wife Kidnap Suspects Arrested After Uber Escape Bid

Two of six suspects in the failed kidnapping of The Sandbox co-founder Sébastien Borget’s wife were arrested on May 22 after ordering an Uber to flee the scene near Paris. The May 21 attack was foiled by neighbors who alerted authorities, leading to the seizure of a replica handgun, cable ties and balaclavas. Police have linked the incident to the family’s high profile in crypto amid a surge of violent “wrench” attacks, with Casa documenting 38 such cases this year and a related Specter assault netting $6.7 million. The event underscores rising personal-security risks for crypto executives but has not triggered immediate price moves in ether or The Sandbox token.
