S&P, Nasdaq fall as tech shares drag markets lower and Bitcoin follows suit

Bitcoin sold off alongside risk assets as stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data and weak Broadcom guidance sparked a broad tech-led market decline. The Nasdaq Composite fell 4.18% on June 5, its worst single-day drop since April 2025, while the S&P 500 lost 2.64% and the Dow slipped 1.35%. Higher-rate expectations hurt growth stocks, with Broadcom down 7.9%, Nvidia down 6.2%, and Micron down 13.3%. Bitcoin extended losses to about $61,344, down 3.17%, showing continued sensitivity to macro and equity-market sentiment rather than crypto-specific news. Coinbase, Robinhood, and MicroStrategy each fell more than 6%, reflecting pressure on crypto-linked equities and risk appetite.
