Ryanair signs five-year Google Cloud deal, expands use of AI in airline operations

Ryanair announced a five-year cloud partnership with Google Cloud that expands its use of AI across airline operations. The deal will see Ryanair deploy Google’s Gemini AI tools and DeepMind models to help with crew scheduling, operational decisions, fleet operations, and maintenance planning. The airline will also roll out Google Workspace and Google Cloud services to 35,000 employees as it works toward a target of carrying 300 million passengers annually by 2034. Financial terms were not disclosed. The agreement underscores the aviation sector’s growing adoption of AI to improve efficiency, resilience, and reduce operating costs, and it may support Ryanair’s longer-term scaling ambitions. For Alphabet, the partnership is another enterprise AI/cloud win that reinforces demand for its AI stack.
