Robinhood dips as Q1 earnings miss and crypto revenue, volume fall nearly 50%
Robinhood’s Q1 earnings miss weighed on the market: the stock slid about 9.4% in after-hours trading after EPS of $0.38 and revenue of $1.07B came in below expectations. Crypto-specific metrics were notably weak — transaction revenue fell 47% YoY (from $252M to $134M) and trading volume fell 48% to $24B — which the CEO attributed largely to market price swings. The weakness in crypto trading reduced firmwide revenue, but growth in non-crypto products (Robinhood Predictions and other “other” revenue) helped offset some losses. The report highlights pressured crypto activity that could dampen trading-related revenues across retail platforms even as BTC remained around $77k.
