Robinhood Adds $25 Million in Bitcoin to Corporate Balance Sheet
Robinhood has purchased $25 million worth of Bitcoin to hold directly on its corporate balance sheet. Disclosed by Johann Kerbrat, Senior Vice President and General Manager of crypto and international, at Token2049 in Singapore, the purchase marks Robinhood's first corporate treasury crypto allocation. The holding remains distinct from Robinhood's nearly $25 billion in customer crypto assets, including over 185,000 BTC. Following the disclosure, Bitcoin traded near $84,280. The allocation coincides with Robinhood's broader digital asset initiatives, including plans for perpetual futures trading and Robinhood Chain surpassing $1.05 billion in total value locked.
