Recon Africa Advances Namibia KW1X Testing After $36.8M Raise

Reconnaissance Energy Africa (WLDOIL) has moved into production testing at its Kavango West 1X discovery in Namibia, with downhole perforation and flow tests scheduled to begin before the end of May 2026. The update follows Santos’ first oil at Alaska’s Pikka Phase 1 project and 88 Energy’s confirmation that its Augusta-1 well remains on track for a Q1 2027 spud. WLDOIL reported Q1 results, secured a one-year exploration extension to January 2027, and completed a $36.8 million financing plus subsequent warrant exercises that bolstered its treasury. Production casing is already set, positioning the well for potential future output if tests succeed.
