Polymarket has enabled instant self-custodial Bitcoin deposits via the Lightning Network, powered by Spark, settling in under one second. The upgrade replaces the prior 3-6 on-chain confirmations that took 10-60 minutes and follows the platform’s October 2025 rollout of standard Bitcoin deposits. Spark’s zero-conf validation handles double-spend checks while preserving user custody and wallet compatibility with Cash App, Coinbase, Binance, and others. The move arrives as prediction-market volumes hit $44.8 billion in June and Polymarket-linked World Cup contracts exceeded $5 billion, strengthening its position against rivals amid ongoing regulatory scrutiny.
