Planet Ships Tanager-2 and 18 SuperDoves to Launch Site

Planet Labs PBC has delivered its Tanager-2 satellite alongside 18 SuperDove satellites comprising Flock 4J to Vandenberg Space Force Base in California in preparation for launch aboard SpaceX's upcoming Transporter-18 rideshare mission. This shipment marks Planet's third launch campaign of the year and represents a key step in broadening the company's Earth observation constellation. The deployment of Tanager-2, developed in partnership with Carbon Mapper, is engineered to double Planet's hyperspectral imaging capacity and cut revisit times in half for tracking methane super-emitters and supporting climate mitigation policies. The satellite features high-resolution imaging spectroscopy across 426 contiguous bands. Concurrently, the 18 SuperDoves will bolster PlanetScope, Planet's daily global scanning mission that serves commercial, governmental, and defense sectors with AI-powered geospatial data solutions.
