Ongwe identifies 5km gold anomaly at Namibia’s Omatjete project

Ongwe Minerals reported a new 5km gold-in-soil anomaly, named the Nguni anomaly, at its Omatjete Gold Project in Namibia. Soil assays returned grades of up to 730 ppb gold, with elevated trends above 100 ppb extending across multi-kilometer stretches. The anomaly is still open in multiple directions, suggesting upside for further expansion, and Ongwe is continuing infill sampling, geological mapping, and a planned drone magnetic survey ahead of drilling in H2 2026. The announcement reinforces exploration momentum at Omatjete and supports the company’s broader Namibia gold strategy, including nearby acquisitions and additional licenses. While this is not a resource estimate or production milestone, it is a positive exploration development that may improve future resource potential and investor sentiment toward the project.
