Nvidia surges 2% as chip stocks rebound, energy lags
On June 18 semiconductors staged a sharp rebound after two days of weakness, with Nvidia rising 2.04% and peers Micron, KLA and Lam Research posting gains of 5-7%. The move reversed the sector rotation seen on June 16 when Nvidia fell 1.78%, AMD dropped 4.10% and Intel slid 5.58% while financials and consumer stocks outperformed. Investors are now favoring tech growth themes over traditional energy names, as Exxon and Chevron fell more than 2% each amid continued oil volatility.
