Nvidia Shares Rise 2% on Competitor Partnerships and China Sales
Nvidia shares climbed about 2% on July 8 after reports it is partnering with AI chip rivals including d-Matrix and SambaNova while China may permit limited H200 GPU purchases by top firms. The move follows Nvidia's July 1-2 launch of a revenue-sharing model with neoclouds Sharon AI (up to 40,000 GPUs) and Firmus Technologies (up to 170,000 GPUs at a 360 MW Batam site) to expand its AI ecosystem. By July 7, Japanese startup Turing had shifted 10% of training workloads to AMD, underscoring growing competition even as NVDA traded near records.
