Nvidia sets October launch for RTX Spark AI PCs

Nvidia has announced that PC manufacturers Lenovo and Acer are scheduled to launch the first Windows personal computers powered by its RTX Spark processor in October. The new chip combines Nvidia's Blackwell graphics processor with a Grace central processor, aiming to deliver robust on-device artificial intelligence processing capabilities directly to laptops and desktop systems. The RTX Spark chip is the product of a multi-year partnership between Nvidia and Microsoft, developed in collaboration with Taiwan-based MediaTek, intended to redefine consumer computing for the AI era. By moving AI workloads directly onto personal computers, hardware developers seek to cut recurring cloud computation costs, improve data privacy, and deliver faster response times for users running complex models and autonomous agents. This launch comes as competition in edge AI hardware intensifies across the personal computing industry, following Apple's rollout of refreshed Mac desktops featuring M-series chips capable of running local AI agents.
