NVIDIA Runs Record 104-Qubit Quantum Simulation on Europe's JUPITER Supercomputer

NVIDIA announced it executed the largest comprehensive simulation of a fault-tolerant quantum processing system to date on JUPITER, Europe's first exascale supercomputer at Germany's Jülich Supercomputing Centre. Powered by 8,192 GPUs using cuQuantum and the CUDA-Q platform, the 104-qubit simulation validated magic-state cultivation under realistic hardware noise conditions. The method requires 90% fewer physical qubits than conventional techniques. Initial testing was completed on an NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 cluster, cutting workflow duration from weeks to days. NVIDIA shares rose 1.54% to $217.42 following the announcement.
