Nvidia, Meta and Schlumberger rank among top companies adopting AI, new study says

A new open-source “AIDE Index” from the AI-Driven Enterprise Institute ranks S&P 500 companies by AI adoption using public data (earnings transcripts, job postings, patents). Nvidia tops the list with a perfect 100 technology score, joined at 100 by Amazon, Meta and Schlumberger; Walmart and several utilities and industrials also score highly. The index measures orientation and implementation (plus literacy and advocacy) but does not link AI adoption to financial returns. The ranking could influence investor and board perceptions of which firms are best positioned to deploy AI operationally, reinforcing interest in leading tech names and potentially supporting demand for shares perceived as AI leaders, while providing a benchmark for corporate governance and strategic planning.
