NVIDIA FLARE Expands Federated Learning with Kubernetes, Slurm
NVIDIA has unveiled NVIDIA FLARE 2.9, an update to its enterprise federated learning platform that adds native support for Slurm scheduling alongside existing Docker and Kubernetes environments. The architectural enhancement resolves key infrastructure fragmentation issues across multi-institutional collaborations by separating persistent federation coordination from dynamic job execution. This allows participating sites to retain local control over computing policies, GPUs, and sensitive data while contributing to decentralized machine learning workflows. The update positions NVIDIA to capture increasing demand across privacy-sensitive industries such as healthcare, financial services, and IoT. According to industry research, the federated learning market is projected to expand from $167.1 million in 2026 to $297.5 million by 2030, reflecting a 14.4% compound annual growth rate. By lowering the operational barriers for heterogeneous enterprise environments, NVIDIA strengthens its software ecosystem and AI infrastructure dominance across high-performance computing centers.
