Nvidia Explores Acquisition or Expanded Investment in Open-Weight Startup Reflection AI

Nvidia is in early-stage talks to acquire or expand its stake in open-weight artificial intelligence startup Reflection AI, according to reports citing the Financial Times. The prospective transaction could involve a full buyout, expanded equity stake, or an acqui-hire and licensing structure designed to bypass antitrust scrutiny. Nvidia previously invested $800 million in Reflection AI, anchoring a $2 billion round at an $8 billion valuation. Founded in 2024 by former DeepMind researchers, Reflection AI recently sought capital at a $25 billion valuation and released its open-weight Beam model for coding.
