Nvidia approached S.Korea power firms over data center infra- report
Nvidia has held talks with major South Korean power-equipment makers to design higher-voltage, more power-efficient data-center infrastructure based on 800 V DC systems, The Asia Business Daily reported. The move is part of Nvidia’s global push to cut conversion stages, reduce current and copper use versus existing 54 V systems, and improve data-center power efficiency. Potential Korean candidates named include Hyundai Electric, LS Electric and Hyosung Heavy Industries. Market implications: successful adoption could benefit Nvidia’s data-center efficiency and demand for its processors, and create new business opportunities for South Korean power-equipment suppliers and memory vendors in Nvidia’s supply chain. NVDA traded around $199.88 (‑1.08%) on the day of the report.
