On May 8, Ethereum's most notorious MEV bot 'JaredfromSubway' was identified targeting Vitalik Buterin's April 30 XDB-to-ETH swap in block 24993038. Initial May 7 reports uncovered the unnoticed sandwich attack, where the bot routed $1.14M WETH through SushiSwap and Uniswap V2 to front- and back-run the $4.56 trade, but incurred a loss after $5.14 gas fees.
