Nokia accelerates AI-RAN adoption as global operators embrace AI-native network evolution on NVIDIA platforms
Nokia announced expanding global adoption and commercial momentum for its AI-RAN solutions, developed in close collaboration with NVIDIA on the NVIDIA Aerial RAN Computer platform. Telecom operators across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East—including A1 Group, Chunghwa Telecom, du, e&, Mobily, stc, TPG Telecom, and Zain Saudi—are progressing AI-RAN implementations from initial evaluations into live field trials. The AI-RAN architecture integrates Nokia's anyRAN software with NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform, transforming traditional radio access networks into software-defined infrastructure capable of supporting both telecom traffic and edge artificial intelligence workloads. The technology has demonstrated spectral efficiency gains exceeding 20%, with planned software upgrades set to deliver further performance enhancements through 2027 and 2028. This expansion reinforces NVIDIA's strategic foothold in the telecommunications sector as networks evolve toward AI-native 5G Advanced and 6G. By driving edge compute utilization in telecom data centers and base stations, the partnership deepens NVIDIA's ecosystem reach and enterprise silicon demand across global carrier networks.
