New Bitcoin, Energy, and Compute Hub Node NBO Opens in Nairobi, Kenya
Node NBO, a new Bitcoin, energy and compute hub, opened in Nairobi on May 16, 2026. The co‑working facility — hosting Fedi, Gridless, BTrust and others — includes three labs (open-source energy, Bitcoin mining, AI compute), an event space for ~150 people and is powered entirely by on-site solar. Positioned in Gigiri near U.N. headquarters, Node NBO aims to showcase African infrastructure projects to global visitors and accelerate coordination among miners, compute and freedom‑tech teams. The hub strengthens Bitcoin adoption and renewable mining capacity in East Africa, a positive development for network infrastructure, local economic integration and long‑term Bitcoin demand.
