Nasdaq to launch new products ahead of extended trading hours plan
Nasdaq said it will roll out a suite of upgraded products to support a planned expansion of U.S. equities trading to a 23-hour day, aimed at boosting global access to high-demand U.S. stocks. The changes — subject to regulatory approval — are expected to begin Dec. 6 and include enhanced data analytics and cross-exchange visibility across Nasdaq’s three equity venues. The move (new trading window roughly 9 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET versus today’s pre-market 4:00–9:30 ET, regular 9:30–16:00 ET and post-market 16:00–20:00 ET) could increase liquidity and participation from international retail and institutional investors, shift intraday volume patterns, and raise operational and market-structure considerations for market participants and regulators.
