Musk Plans to Double Nvidia AI Chips at Colossus 2 Data Center by Year-End

Elon Musk announced plans to more than double the deployment of advanced Nvidia artificial intelligence chips at the Colossus 2 data center by the end of the year. The Memphis, Tennessee facility currently operates approximately 110,000 Nvidia GB200 chips and 440,000 GB300 chips. Under the expansion timeline, 220,000 GB300 processors are set to come online within the next week, followed by 220,000 in November and a potential 220,000 in late December. The cluster serves xAI and SpaceXAI infrastructure while leasing capacity to external firms.
